Join us to learn about the work of
artist Sam Van Aken, specifically his Tree of Forty Fruits project, which has
gained worldwide acclaim. Using the age old technique of grafting, Van Aken has
created some very unique fruit trees that bear upwards of forty different types
of stone fruits. Sam Van Aken is a contemporary artist who crosses artistic
genres and disciplines to develop new perspectives on such themes as
communication, botany, agriculture, climatology, and the ever-increasing impact
of technology. He is an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator for the School of Art at Syracuse
University. Van Aken’s work is represented by Ronald Feldman Fine Arts.
